About Jacob Donnelly, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work at UCLA, one of the top programs in the country. I’ve had the benefit of receiving advanced training in talk therapy/counseling, including evidenced-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Seeking Safety.
I entered private practice after most recently working as the Clinical Director for Non-Residential Programs at Swords to Plowshares, a large non-profit organization serving veterans in San Francisco, Alameda County, and the greater Bay Area. While I still am passionate about serving folks in need and supporting staff, I found that I felt most fulfilled providing support to individuals and running small support groups, so I decided to branch out on my own.
I have provided trainings to mental health clinicians and social service staff on substance use, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, trauma-informed care, crisis counseling, suicide assessment and prevention, working with older adults, and more, and I am available to provide trainings to agencies and groups if you are looking for an experienced clinician and supervisor.
Outside of the therapy office, I enjoy hiking with my dog and family, gardening, and going camping.
